Project Description

Establishing a new manufacturing facility to supply Category 1 volumetric timber-framed houses and apartments for the UK residential market.

Assessed as a viable product with sufficient vertically integrated demand, the business case was developed and approved for the fit-out of a 120,000 ft² manufacturing facility with a full production rate of 25 modules a week from a single shift operation.

Taking possession of a speculatively constructed distribution unit near Derby, the specification, selection, and installation of equipment took place over an 18-month period and included: - MEP fit-out, including a new higher-capacity incoming electrical supply - Extensive remodelling of the office and welfare facilities - Equipment installation - Human resource recruitment and training.
